I shared this panda card in a quick post the other day to get it out there and promised some more detail so here it is….
This started with a base white card. A2 size card (5.5 by 4.25). I then cut out a rectangle a little bit smaller for the pink and then even smaller for the mint green. This gave me my card base or template on which to work.
The panda bear stamp didn’t come with a matching die, so I stamped him in just a solid black on white paper and scanned it, importing it in to cricut design space, making it slightly larger, taking out some detail and making my own cut shape that was close enough for him to be cute. I think let the cricut cut him out of plain white card stock to give me a base to stamp him. I did the stamp with embossing ink and then black embossing powder, heated him up and he was all set. I laid him on the paper to get my spacing for the balloons and them did them with embossing ink and powder before gluing down mr. panda. Then I glued him down and was off to the party banner. Same process. A quick sentiment on the inside and this card was off to its recipient.
Other than not having taken the time to make an envelope, I think the card came out well. It wasn’t until I posted it to my facebook page that the recipient realized it was homemade. Loved that about it and it was like I found the perfect card for a panda themed party.
